David Maldonado

David Maldonado - Stevenson Law Offices - davidDavid Maldonado is an associate attorney at Stevenson Law Office. His practice areas involve litigation and appellate work. He primarily practices criminal law at all levels and family law. David was born in Billings, Montana. Upon graduating from West High, he entered military service. David served in Kosovo and Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star. Upon his honorable discharge, David enrolled in college and graduated, magna cum laude, from MSU-B, with a B.A.

David graduated from Pettit College of Law in 2011. During law school, David distinguished himself serving as Managing Editor of the Law Review, arguing about the legality of drone strikes in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Chicago, and graduating in the top ten of his law class. In 2011, David’s article on the assignment of prospective tort proceeds was published in the Ohio Survey of Cases portion of the law journal. David graduated law school in 2011 and was awarded the school’s high honor: Induction into the Willis Society.

In addition to his academic record, David has broad legal experience. Specifically, he was an Honors Intern with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., an extern for a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge in Columbus, OH, and an intern with a County Prosecutor.

Additionally, David has direct experience with all stages of the criminal justice system including initial appearances and bail arguments, discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial, and appeals. David has successfully won suppression hearings for his clients that resulted in dismissals. Likewise, he has handled all phases of family law matters including dissolution, parenting plans, and property settlement agreements. To date, David has represented clients in twelve different counties throughout the State and appeared in eighteen different courts.

David recognizes the importance of liberty, family, and holding the government, at all levels, accountable; thus, he is extremely dedicated to using his broad experience to get the best possible outcomes for his clients.
